CX Sims #1

Tonight was the first night of CX sims.  Frickin' blast!  We hightailed it down to the BLM land west of Grass Valley and put together a very challenging .6 mile course shown below (ignore section that connects in the center).  We ran this clockwise.  One run up section, one big puddle you had to run around, one big big dip that was a thrill on a cross bike, some muddy spots, berms, jumps, baby heads, you name it!  The fellas that won tonight were on single speed mountain bikes.  As I said, this was a very challenging course.  We'll head there again next week.

This was an exploratory route. Google Earth finally worked on this one, however there was quite a bit of tresspassing done to make it happen. The nice fella that lives on Blue Gravel Road let us through his property and even gave us directions. I don't advise trying this route as it has many No Trespassing signs and gates. We were lucky this guy was home and his gate was open. All and all a good ride, but doubt I'd do it again. Accompanied by Trucker, Tin Foil Hat Man, Chuckwagon and Raphael.

The deer were out in force this day.

Climbing early in the morning up Dieter's Trail.

On the Snow Mountain Ditch very early in the day.

On the singlespeed for the first time in months. Accompanied by Trucker, the Believer, Raphael, & Billiam. Lots of new trails since last time I rode up there. Dusty, very dusty. It was great to his some fresh pow-pow, the trail is retarted! We didn't even ride all of the new stuff, we ran out of daylight.
